Chinababu Telugu Movie

Feature Film | 2018
Critics:
Chinababu is a watchable rural family drama with well-laced humour and emotions. Some may find it too high on melodrama and old-fashioned family scenes but you can still give it a try.

Chinababu (Karthi) is son of a landlord (Sathya Raj) in a village. Chinna Babu lives on Agriculture and loves his large family and relatives to the core. While his sisters and their husbands assume that he would marry either of his two nieces, Chinababu falls in love with the village beauty, Leela (Sayyesha). The rest is all about how Chinababu convinces the family and win Leela's hand.

Karthi shouldered the responsiblity of the entire film with his good performance. He has performed well as a proud farmer and as a guy who pines for family bonding. Sathyaraj is okay as a landlord. Bhanu Priya and the other women cast are okay. Soori's comedy is the biggest plus while Sayyesha is natural as a village belle.

Chinababu is a Rural Backdrop Village Drama. We happened to see several films of this kind several years ago but the director Pandiraj still made it watchable for its emotional sequences and some comic sequences. The Urban Audience may find it too much melodramatic and preachy but the fact is that it does not bore much. The biggest drawback is that there is too much of Tamil nativity in the film which is filled with many Tamil Actors.. Dialogues are well-written while the music by D Imman is ordinary. The camera work is good and the editing is adequate. The Production Values are appropriate.

Finally, Chinababu is a watchable rural family drama with well-laced humour and emotions. Some may find it too high on melodrama and old-fashioned family scenes but you can still give it a try.
