Tavarina Siri Kannada Movie
''Tavarina Siri'' hits the screen after back to back hits like ''Tavarige Baa Thangi' and ''Anna Thangi' had set the pattern of intensive sentimental films. The film has followed the same pattern of narration, though one thing has to be said of this film. The main protagonist looks at life positively and the inherent message in the film is that life is not a bed of roses and you have to endure all negative aspects until good things happen to you.
But you should have abundant patience to watch this film as for nearly ninety minutes the film fails to convey anything and the proceedings will test your nerves. The last four to five reels in the film has an interesting presentation, but you will have to wait and watch all these inconsequential sequences with frustration. Suddenly the film enlivens and the result is that you will come back from the theatre with the fond memories of the last thirty minutes.
Director Sai Prakash who had directed block busters like ''Thavarige Baa Thangi' and ''Anna Thangi' with Shivaraj Kumar has not given too much of prominence to the melodramatic aspects of the film. Rather he has tried to bring about the feel factor and has deliberately reduced the impact of some over sensitive sequences. The film has rich production values. The performances of lead actors like Shivaraj Kumar and Ramesh Bhat has also been quite above the bar which is another factor that is likeable in the film.
But there are some negative factors in the film which could have been avoidable. The director should have gone for a fast and pace narration to get the film a better look. And then there are some characters in the film like that of Hema Chowdhary and Asha Latha which do not jell with the mood of the film. The comedy track which comes out as an isolated wing of the story as none of the characters featured there have any relation to the main plot of the story is done in bad taste. The whole comedy sub plot could have been deleted, and the film could have been much better placed. ''Tavarina Siri'' is essentially a sentimental film and many sequences are loaded to get the weepy impact. But it is the loaded sequences which are unnecessarily thrust on the audience which fail to get an impact, but when the film gets into the mould of some reality in the final sequences it looks good.
The twist in the final sequence is the one which is likeable in the film. Tavarina Siri is the story of Muttanna, a compulsive do goodie who does anything if it helps others. He has three sisters who are brought up by him in extremely difficult and challenging circumstances. He gets them married to a doctor and an engineer, but the marriage will be on the verge on a break down within six months. Another girl who is saved by Muttanna saves the family of his sisters. Muttanna starts loving this girl, but is unable to reveal his love.
Then Muttanna's charitable deeds and the marriage of his another sister to a rich person milks away his assets and makes him to lose every thing. Then he is forced to work as a laborer in the city, but he does not want to tell his plight to his sisters. Finally he is united with his sisters, lover and he also gets his palatial bungalow back.
Shivaraj Kumar scores well as a performer in this film and his body language and facial expressions in the final sequences show his maturity as an actor.
Ramesh Bhat is another good performer in the film who shines. Daisy Bopanna has more of substance in this role than glamour. She looks pretty in the song sequences. Ashwini makes a good presence in the role of the sister. Shobharaj has little to do in the film, but seen in some fighting sequences with Shivaraj Kumar.
''Tavarina Siri'' is a film that appeals you in the last few minutes, but you should wait and watch with bated breath in the first two hours.
