Sri Lakshmi Productions and Jayam Company have come together to produce a mass entertainer. The brother duo of Director Raja and Hero Ravi has struck it rich yet again.

Muthupandi is an emotional and hardworking agriculturist in a village who faces lot of hardships in his teenage to redeem his land and house. He is attached deeply to his sister Kavitha whom he brings up with love, care and dignity. Kavitha goes well in advance to attend her friend Lalitha's wedding, where she meets Santosh, her friend's cousin from London.

Santosh and Kavitha are attracted towards each other with intense love. Santosh's rich mother from London has other plans. When she finds that her son is involved with a girl from a poor agricultural background, she insults her and drives her out of the house. Muthupandi who just comes in to attend the wedding is also insulted and sent out. The brother and sister leave for their village.

Santosh, who comes to know of all the happenings later, elopes while he is halfway through his air travel from Dubai Airport and reaches the village to ask Muthupandi's pardon. Muthupandi is deeply wounded by the insults. His previous experience with his rich father also makes him rigid against rich people. Finally he poses a challenge to Santosh to prove his worth by cultivating a piece of land and produce a good yield. Santosh takes up the challenge and undergoes severe hardships to adapt to a new lifestyle and learn cultivation too.

While several forces act against the couple coming together, they counter them using committed love and steely will power. Whether they are united in love or whether the conspiring forces succeed form the final pulsating moments.

The film is a remake of a successful Telugu movie 'Nuvvostanante Nevaddantana', which had Sidharth and Trisha in the lead and directed by Prabhu Deva. The storyline tells the emotional bonding, the passionate love, the cultural richness of the village life etc with good effect. The narration is excellent without any let up. The humorous interludes, which are skillfully blended with the narration throughout the movie, make it a happy viewing. Director Raja has done a very good job.

Jayam Ravi as the agile, mischievous and passionate Santosh steals the show. Trisha as Kavitha has ample scope to showcase her acting prowess and she has grabbed the opportunity with both the hands. Prabhu has shown what ageing can do to a star's performance. He resembles old wine, getting better and better with age. Sometimes his performance overshadows that of the lead pair. Bhakyaraj as the father of the hero has limited scope. Geetha and the big array of stars have performed their roles well.

The visuals are well captured by the artistic lens of Venkatesh. The music score by Devi Sri Prasad is good and three numbers are sure to be hits. Background score is also commendable. Editing by Suraj Kavi is crisp and apt. Stunts by Fefsi Vijayan are different and eye-catching.

In these times where one is witness to movies involving gangsters, violence and sex, it is a movie with the right ingredients for all types of audience.
