Bas Ek Pal is the story of five people bound inextricably by an incident that changes their lives forever. Set in the metropolis of Mumbai, the film explores the complexities of modern urban relationships. Each character has a secret. And each uncovered secret alters the dynamics of every relationship.

Bas Ek Pal is a journey of revelations, passions, jealousies, insecurities, love and anger, as each character searches for that ever-elusive moment of happiness.

Nikhil Kapoor

Single, handsome, passionate, flamboyant, witty and a little arrogant. Not only does he think that he is the best, he is also by nature an incorrigible flirt.

He worked with an MNC after graduating from a management school in Boston. After the death of his parents in a road accident in the US, he relocates to India where his buddy Rahul is settled.

Rahul Kher

Single, introvert, charming, sensitive and loving. Even when he was in school with Nikhil, Rahul always knew that he would one day be taking care of the family business. It was not what he would have ideally wanted to do in life though. He loves to cook, cares for his friends and family. Like his childhood buddy Nikhil, he too loves sports, especially basketball. He is often at the basketball court with his friend Steve.

Steve O'brien

A builder by profession, not choice. Having failed in his export venture, Steve joined his dad's construction firm, something which he had never wanted to do. The failure also made him turn to alcohol, leading to the ruin of his marriage. Married for the last five years, he loves his wife Ira intensely, but their marriage is going through a bad phase. Alcoholism has made him abusive towards his wife, more so as he suspects that she is having an affair with someone else. This thought is driving him crazy.

Ira Malhotra

A former Miss India, who gave up the life of glamour to get married to the man she loved - Steve. She married him against the wishes of her family and as the marriage sailed into turbulent waters, she wanted to but found it difficult to leave. Steve keeps threatening to kill himself if she mentions wanting out. Presently she spends most of her time working for an old age home.

Anamika Joshi

Single, attractive, extrovert, vivacious. Anamika or as her friends call her, Anu is an intelligent and vibrant person. A civil engineer by profession, she is well aware of the admiring looks that she gets from her male colleagues, often using this to her advantage. She is ambitious, hard-working, and also likes to live it up and party a lot.

During one such night of partying, Anamika meets Nikhil at Anticlock pub. The chemistry between them is instant and obvious from the moment they meet. However she disappears into the night without even telling him her name.

Nikhil starts to visit the pub regularly hoping to meet her again. Many nights of waiting later, on a night when Nikhil has gone to Anticlock with Rahul and Steve, Anamika appears with her friends. An altercation takes place, leading to a scuffle. And in the scuffle a shot is fired.

Time stands still as Nikhil realizes that he is holding a gun in his hand, the gun from which the shot has just been fired. This moment would change all their lives. Irrevocably.
