"Veyyil" is Bharath's third film in a row with director Shankar after "Boys" and "Kadhal". Pairing with him is Bhavana. Shriya Reddy plays the role of a slum girl sans glamour. Her role is unlike the one in "Thimiru" in which she played opposite Vishal.

Pasupathy, known for his acting prowess, is given a positive and important role. The action revolves around the people of Virudhunagar where the shooting took place through and through under the blazing sun. One-time associate of director Shankar, Vasantha Balan has directed "Veyyil". He has introduced as many as 50 local faces in the film adding local flavor to the story. The town itself was turned into a studio attracting people in large numbers from in and around Virudhunagar.

Vasantha Balan who has made his debut as a director in "Album" has reportedly handled "Veyyil" putting to use what all he has learnt as a debutant. He has introduced the right ingredients in the film to carry the stamp of quality of Shankar's home production house, S Pictures.

Music is by G.V Prakash, 18-year-old nephew of A.R. Rahman. "Veyyil" has aroused great expectations as it follows Shankar's runaway hit "Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi.

As producer, Shankar says the success of a good movie lies in good storyline and script. "Thankfully all my films so far have a good storyline and script".

Bharath said: "Veyyil is a feel-good film and it is different from the run-of-the mill kind of stuff. A realistic film, it would fetch everyone a good name."
