This is one film which entertains you fully barring the first ten or fifteen minutes which has been surprisingly lagging and has some jarring sequences. But once Dr. Vishnuvardhan's character makes an entry into the scene, the film takes off to zoom and then it is zoom...vroom...ooh.... haa for the viewers. It is laughter all the while with each character in the film trying his level best to make the audience laugh.

It may not be a great stuff technically, but the script itself does not need high technical values. It is a simple story well told on the screen. Sachin has learnt his basics well and conveys the elements of the story in an entertaining fashion.

He is well supported by some good performances by proved and talented artists like Vishnuvardhan, Ramesh Arvind, Prema, Umashri and others. Sachin has been strongly influenced by films like "Bombay to Goa" made in the early seventies which were thoroughly enjoyable comedies. But in "Ekadhantha' he has been able to blend the religious element into an essentially a fun story. Therefore the film makes it appealing to a wider section of audience including the highly religious minded people.

And there is enough space for the youngsters and fans to enjoy the film, as in the film Dr. Vishnu not only delivers punch dialogues with elan but also dances with high energy.

'Ekadhantha' revolves around a childless couple Ramesh Arvind and Prema. Prema is reminded of a vow by Ramesh's father. Then to complete this vow, the couple takes on a journey to a holy place Ganapathipura. They encounter an energetic and fun loving bus conductor, an innocent but maverick bus driver and people of varying attitudes in their journey. Finally the vow is accomplished, but what happens during this journey is the important entertaining aspect of the film.

As already said it is Dr. Vishnu who steals the show with this brilliant performance. For the people who were in tears after seeing his high voltage performance in 'Sirivantha', this film comes as a sharp contrast. He thoroughly enjoys every bit of the opportunity thrown in.

Ramesh Arvind plays a good role to perfection. Prema is equally brilliant in the role of an innocent but deeply religious wife. Every other character in the film shows lot of enthusiasm in performing their respective roles. The high point of the film is the music composed by Guru Kiran. Two songs of the film 'Bandal Badaayi Maadhava' and "EE Sonta Nodu' are really enjoyable and the religious song in the climax will become highly popular in the coming days.

P.K.H.Doss shows his best talents behind the camera. 'Ekadhantha' is a thoroughly enjoyable film which is a must see for all the people interested in healthy comedy. And it is a complete family entertainer.
