Gange Baare Thunge Baare directed by Sadhu Kokila was supposed to be a romantic youthful entertainer, but the film ends up as a big bore with yawning sequences and weak performances from the lead artists. Despite some space for comedy sequences in the film and good song picturisations in good locales, the film fails to entertain because of a lack of freshness in the subject and an utterly mediocre narration.

Leaving euphemisms aside, the movie can be described as the worst offering from Sadhu Kokila so far. The film lacks entertaining values and the so called comedy sequences in the film are in poor taste. Prajwal has to really polish his skills both in comedy and emotional edged sequences.

Sadhu chooses a different set-up for the story, choice of artists and even the technical team. His eagerness to strike a different tone in the film is visible throughout the film, but his failings are seen more strikingly in certain aspects of the film. The film has some continuity glitches and many diversions are packed in the film which interfere in the story telling mode many a times.

Sadhu Kokila who has handled many top artists and very good subjects so far has utterly failed to handle this subject which lacks freshness. And the story writer Ranganath has also not worked enough while writing the story.

The story revolves around a careless youngster Harsha who is just moving around with friends despite completing his engineering graduation. His father sends him to Shringeri for an assignment to revamp the electrical system in an MLA's house. He meets two mischief mongering sisters Gange and Thunge who try to humiliate him many a time, but Harsha pays back in the same coin. Harsha falls for Gange and even tells her about his deep love for her. Later Harsha learns that Thunge has fallen for him and her infatuation for him leads to several confusing developments later. How Harsha solves all his problems forms the rest of the story.

The main weak point of the film is that all the three lead artists have not been able to rise to the demands of the script. Prajwal has still to mature to do such roles, though he has tried to do well in comedy and stunt sequences. Sunainya has worked hard in the song sequences, but her efforts do not look real in the emotional sequences. Gayathri is just O.K. The character artists are adequate and fill the bill.

Music is another weak point in the film. The songs are shot well. Shekhar Chandru's camera work is a plus point in the film.

GBTB could have been a better offering with a good script and neat performances from its artists.
