Shahid-Kareena might have put an end to their relationship in real life, but the love is present all over in Jab We Met. Directed by Imtiaz Ali Jab We Met is a delightful and comical love story featuring Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor. With less drama and no fights Imtiaz has handled the script with maturity and dexterity.

The story is about a two strangers Aditya Kashyap and Geet who are brought together by destiny and how love blossoms between them. Aditya is introduced as a dejected man as the girl he loved was getting married to someone else. Unable to muster courage, he drifts away from his family and friends and aimlessly boards a train. Geet, a pretty but gallingly talkative girl boards the same train to go back to her hometown Bhatinda. Irritated by the continuous chattering of Geet, Aditya gets off the train. As she tries to get him back on the train, she ends up missing the train herself. Geet deems Aditya responsible for everything and asks him to take her back home. What follows next is how they fall in love with each other?

Director Imtiaz Ali is a great story teller. He has convincingly depicted the growing bond between two strangers who accidentally cross each other's path one night and embark on a scenic yet amusing journey. The movie has its share of pro's and con's. You might wonder as to why Geet took the trouble of helping a stranger? (Well it's just another punch of Bollywood). But in Jab We Met the pro's over power the cons making it an entertaining journey. The comic scenes are truly amusing and emotional scenes leave you moist-eyed.

The first half of the movie succeeds in capturing your attention by some side splitting comedy and fast paced sequences. The pace slackens post interval as the movie takes a dramatic leap with Geet's return into Aditya's life and home after 9 months. On the whole Story, Screenplay, Direction by Imtiaz is topnotch. Cinematography by S Natarajan Subramaniam is excellent. The locales of Chandigarh, Kulu Manali, and Shimla have been shot beautifully. Choreography by Saroj Khan and Ahmed Khan is vivacious and commendable. I really enjoyed Shahid's dance in Nagada Baja song. Music by Pritam Chakraborty and Sandesh Shandilya is very pleasing and blends well with the tone of the movie.

Jab We Met has just the right ingredients to be a successful love story. The performances are top-notch. You witness amazing unseen chemistry between Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor. I don't think anyone could've done more justice to their respective roles. Shahid Kapoor holds his ground and delivers a knock-out performance. He is truly exceptional. On the other hand Kareena is unbelievably amazing. She sure is a revelation for she is absolutely fantastic throughout the movie. Her expressions, her body language are just perfect for the role and this time you won't think that she is overacting.

Overall Jab We Met is a simple story put across deftly by the director and power housed by excellent performances by its lead actors. To sum in simple words, Jab We Met is a cute love story which reaches directly to your heart. Strongly recommended for movie goers of all ages.
