Chickpete Snehagalu Kannada Movie
Too many twists in the plot, confusions and comedy of errors and jugglery of dialogues make "Chickpete Sachagalu" a film where laughs are in plenty but logic has gone for a toss. The film, produced by actor S. Narayan, is directed by Nagendra Magadi who has earlier directed many successful comedy films.
Magadi repeats the combination of Jaggesh and S. Narayan in "Chickpete Sachagalu", which has a better quality of screenplay. Though the film is low on logic, the narration is bound to make the audience laugh heartily. Lively performances by all the veteran comedy artistes have helped the film but surprisingly the music composed by S. Narayan, who has taken too many responsibilities in the film, is a letdown.
Coming to the positive elements in the film, there are a couple of sequences which are really well written. The sequences which are worth mentioning are the fight sequence involving the daughters of Doddanna and the drinking sequence featuring Mukyamanthri Chandru and Sundar Raj. Both Jaggesh and S. Narayan have shown great timing in their comical act.
But overall, Magadi has not been able to get the right tunes from some of his artistes and technicians. Though the music is always an important component of any good comedy film, Magadi has not been able to get a good backing from S. Narayan.
The dialogues of Richard Lewis are ordinary. The two young heroines neither have the talent nor the level of maturity to act in the roles assigned to them. Many sequences in the film lack freshness and look repetitive.
The story revolves around two unemployed brothers Nani and Jaggi who are married to gainfully employed women. There is a role reversal as the two brothers do all the household work in the house while their wives go to office.
Chandrashekhar, father of Nani and Jaggi is an incorrigible trickster who lives by fraud. Chandru hatches a plan to cheat his trusting rich friend from Dubai and uses his two sons as pawns. He even blackmails Nagi and Jaggi to lie and pretend to be bachelors. The two brothers face many problems in their family lives and how they try to wriggle out of these situations is the rest of the story.
Debutant Rockline Ganesh's camera work does not fit into the high standards of cinematography that are seen in many of recent Kannada releases.
"Chickpete Sachagalu" is a good time-pass film, if you have the will to forgive all the small and big mistakes in the narration. Watch it for a few laughs but without any big expectation.
