IG Malayalam Movie

After 'Smart City' and 'Madambi', scenarist-turned-director B. Unnikrishnan is all set to return with 'IG', a cop-story with Suresh Gopi in the lead. Produced by Mahe under the banner of Super Star Films, 'IG' tells the story of Durgaprasad IPS, who is the chief of the Traffic Police department.

As the traffic chief Durgaprasad happens to tumble upon evidences leading him to some 'Hawala' deals. He then comes to know that the Hawala deals that he had unraveled have something to do with terrorist activities. He promptly reports the matter to his superiors and it reaches up to the Chief Minister level.

The Chief Minister takes up the matter for discussion and following this an Anti Terrorist Squad is formed, headed by I.G Durgaprasad. He gets as his assistants Dy.S.P Vakkachan, Deputy Commissioner Diwakar and Sub Inspector Damodaran Pillai. And then begins the investigation into terrorist activities making inroads into the State. It's a tough task indeed, but Durgaprasad and his team know very well how to crack hard nuts. They have to face lots of hardships and problems posed by some of their colleagues too. But they carry on, with real guts and shrewd planning.

Suresh Gopi becomes Durgaprasad while Vijayaraghavan is Vakkachan and Kiran Raj becomes Diwakar. Jagathy Sreekumar plays the role of Damodaran Pillai. Nandini, who has not been seen for some time, appears as an advocate, while veteran actress Lakshmi would also be seen in a key role. The film is all set to hit screens on April 7.
