Mugguru Telugu Movie
Mugguru is the story of three laid back youngsters (Navadeep, Rahul and Srinivas), who wish to makea living doing anything when all their options run out of hand. They attempt to kidnap JP, but in turn rescue him out of danger. Impressed JP, in return offers them a job and promises to get them married off to his daughters (Shradha Das, Sanjana and Sowmya). Off they go to Malaysia to spend some intimate moments and woo their ladies. When everything seems to have perfectly fallen in place, trouble walks in the form of 'Bala Tripura Sundari' (Reema Sen).
I wonder had only life was so easy all of us could've peacefully lived without worrying even for a minute about working hard. We could all go out and hunt for a rich man to kidnap, in turn impress him and earn his daughter as a token of service and inherit his wealth. Wow, sounds so exciting, isn't it? Unfortunately, life isn't as simple as we see it. The director had no clue about what he was doing with the script. He had a producer who could afford to take the crew on a foreign trip, to most exorbitant places and thus made the best use of him.
First half is completely dedicated to set up the plot and few idiotic tricks of the three lead men to trap their girls. The twist towards the end of first half raised curiosity, but the reason cited for it in the second half made the director look ignorant of what he was doing. Flaws were all over the place, almost in every scene and nobody was bothered about it, neither the director nor the producer. The attempt to make this film a hilarious entertainer also seemed to have subsided with the flaws. Irrespective of the presence of several reputed comedians the film still couldn't deliver any laughter at all. Had I were to blame, I would've blamed the plot but nothing else. The plot also appears very common, not at all extraordinary.Direction was completely naïve, as though the director is making a film for the first time.
Navadeep, with few good films to this credit in the past was the only actor worth looking for in the film. Rest of the two male leads hardly delivered anything noteworthy. Multi-heroines trend have become a fad in Tollywood and is fast catching up with every film. Shradha Das was the hottest amongst all and all that they were expected to do was dance their way to cleavage.
Koti's music couldn't do much of a difference, as it was equally irritating and dull as the film.Cinematography could've been better and cinematography definitely went haywire since beginning of the film. It was the location in which the songs were shot made it appear chic but definitely not the cameraman.
'Mugguru' fails to bring forth even three good talk points worth discussing.
