Gambler Telugu Movie
Undoubtedly, Gambler is one of the best films Ajith has ever acted. The film offers slices of entertainment to the audience in the form action, betrayal, love and vengeance. Everything that you could possibly expect as a film enthusiast is part of this film. But, it's not the script or the music that keeps the film alive; it's Ajith, popularly known as 'Thala' all the way.
Ajith aka Vinayak, a police officer is suspended after saving an accused from bunch of cops. He is stripped off his honor, respect and dignity and let to wander around with vengeance. Meanwhile, somewhere in Mumbai, CBI officials led by Prithviraj are on the lookout for few bookies who are involved in match fixing. And, there are a group of youngsters- Sumanth, Ganesh, Mahat, and Prem hatches a plan to loot the betting money of Rs.500 Crores. When everything appears perfectly set for a great heist, trouble walks in the form of Vinayak. What happens to the booty? Who finally gets hold it forms the rest of the story.
Ajith's character resembles that of the joker in Dark Knight, played by late Heath Ledger. Surprisingly, Ajith pulled of his character with class and elan without giving any room for criticism. When it's an Ajith film, what more can you expect other than the actor's style and trademarks. 'Gambler' presents to the audience, Ajith like never before in a role they would've never dreamt to see him.
If you're thinking what Arjun, a much experienced actor than Ajith could be doing in a film that is completely centered on Ajith, then you're wrong. Director Venkat Prabhu has designed the characters in such a way that they all play an important part in the film and without them the film would've been incomplete. If Ajith's character was to portray wickedness, Arjun's on the other hand portrays intellect and commitment. Trisha had limited screen time but shows discipline in her role. Vaibhav and Premji add
humor to the film and keep the audience hooked on to their seats.
The greatest underscore of the film is last 40mins that will make you not only laugh, but move you to the edge of seats and finally walk out of theatres with rejuvenated spirits. The first half is filled with the establishment of characters while the second half is a roller coaster ride with lots of twists and turns.
Technically, Yuvan Shankar Raja, singlehandedly made this film successful much before its release with his music. The title track teases the audience and makes them crave for more. Cinematography by Sakthi Saravanan is top-notching and editing works by Praveen is crisp. Ajith couldn't have asked for a better film to mark his 50, and he should be extremely happy that he gave the audience what they've been
yearning to see from him.
