Music composer Darbuka Siva turns director

Apr 26, 2018 JB

Darbuka Siva who started his career as a Radio Jockey had dabbled in many fields in the film industry. He had acted in Raja Thandhiram and then later turned into a music composer with Sasikumar’s Kidaari which was followed by Balae Vellaya Theva.

But he shot to fame with his Maru Vaarthai Pesadhae from Gautham Menon’s Enai Nokki Paayum Thotta although the film is yet to see the light of the day.

Now, Darbuka Siva is all set to begin his next journey as a director. The composer will be directing a film which will be produced by Sameer Bharatram of Uriyadi fame. Talking about this move, Siva says, “I’m approaching direction just like how I approach independent music. I just take things as they come. I never planned to become a musician. I played music because I enjoyed playing music. I never planned to become a music director, either. It just happened. So, in my present state of mind, I feel that direction is something I would enjoy doing.” The film is most likely to go on floors by August. Cast will be new faces.
