Nagarjuna approached for Karna's role in Mahabharata

Malayalam epic drama film, Mahabharata, starring Mohanlal in the lead role is in its pre-production stages and the script work is going on at a rapid pace. The film, directed by V.A.Shrikumar and written by M.T.Vasudevan Nair, is produced by B.R.Shetty at a mammoth budget of 1000 crores.

There were talks that Nagarjuna would be doing an important role in the film but there was no official confirmation on this. During a recent interaction with the media, when the actor was asked about this, he revealed some details.

He was quoted as saying, "My next film could be Mahabharata and I was approached by writer Vasudevan Nair to play Karna's role in the movie. I'm aware of Shrikumar's efforts to make the movie for the past four years and I got this offer two years ago. Recently, Vasudevan asked me once again for my dates. I told him I will be a part of the movie if my character is also given enough importance and the writer said, it will be a prominent role.
