Aanjjan keen to do film with global theme

Mumbai, June 15 (IANS) He is a known face on both the small and big screens. Aanjjan Srivastav, who will be seen as a politician in Shirish Kunder's "Joker", says he now aspires to do films that revolve around international subjects.


"I don't mind what the part is, I want meaty roles. Whether it is commercial or non-commercial cinema, I want a film with an international subject," he said.


What about directing a Bollywood film?


"I don't want to direct movies right now. But I do plan to direct a play," Aanjjan told IANS.


Best known for films like "Salaam Bombay", "Flavours", "Pukar" and "Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa", he made his mark on television with the popular show "Wagle Ki Duniya".


Now he will be seen in sci-fi thriller "Joker" that stars Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles.


" 'Joker' is not a big role for me, but it is a very important role in the film," he told IANS and elaborating on his character, he added: "There are three politicians in the film but none of them are interested in a particular piece of 'no man's land'. But after they come to know that some scientific developments is going on that land, everyone wants it."
