Mumbai, Aug 22 (IANS) Starlet Sherlyn Chopra, who featured in low-budget films "Time Pass" and "Naughty Boy", has sent a legal notice to film journalist Upala K. Basu Roy of the Mid-Day tabloid charging the latter with defaming her.

Sherlyn has alleged that Upala, alias Upala KBR, had maligned her reputation by using derogatory terms like "air-headed", "B-town wannabe", "star-sublet" and "split personality" to describe her in a recent article after she reportedly refused to part with information about her personal life to the journalist.

Her legal team is preparing a case to sue the journalist.

Sherlyn, who is gearing up for her next release "Red Swastik", has also questioned the authenticity of the journalist's statements on her career moves and claimed that the article had been written out of "grudge, malice and vilification for her, in calculated retaliation".

"Red Swastik" is directed by Vinod Pandey, the director who made the controversial film "Sins" with Shiney Ahuja. Sherlyn plays a killer in the film, which is to hit the theatres very soon.
