Chandigarh, Jan 24 (IANS) Adhyayan Suman, son of actor Shekhar Suman, said he had a tough time shooting in darkness for his forthcoming horror film "Raaz - The Mystery Continues" as he is afraid of ghosts, spirits and the dark in real life.

In the thriller flick, Adyayan plays the role of a young documentary filmmaker who does not believe in ghosts and spirits.

"I am a very spiritual person and visit a temple every day. My character in the movie is diametrically opposite from me as I believe in spirits and ghosts. In fact I had a tough time shooting as we had to shoot maximum times in darkness and I am really afraid of it," Adyayan told reporters earlier this week.

"Earlier I wanted to opt for direction as I did my direction course from New York film academy in 2006. However, gradually while pursuing that course my interest in acting was nurtured."

Adyayan along with Kangana Ranaut, who is playing the female protagonist in the movie, was here to promote the movie which released Friday.

"I love eating and sleeping and a few years back I had a very bulky body but I reduced my weight and worked hard on my fitness. I am not after any six or eight packs, I just want to look fit on the screen," Adyayan said.

"Raaz - The Mystery Continues" is Adhyayan's second movie after "Haal-e-Dil" fell flat at the box office a few months back. In the movie, Adhyayan and Kangana are in a live-in relationship.

Kangana, who spent her school days here, said: "I am playing the role of a successful model, who is disturbed by some spirits. This is a character-oriented movie and I am eagerly waiting for its release."

Though Kangana is in a live-in relationship in the movie but in real life she is not in its favour.

"With time everything has changed, men are living with men and women are marrying women. I do not want to offend anybody here but we should not get carried away by the western culture. We have to preserve our values and I am not in favour of any live-in relation," stated Ranaut.

When asked about her marriage plans, Kangana said: "I am too young for a marriage. I am just 21 and first want to secure my career before taking any such decision."

"I faced many problems when I came to Mumbai three years back. Here nobody helps you till you have a godfather. I have learnt so many things here and think that I have gained the wisdom of a 40-year-old human in the last two-three years through my struggle," she said.

"Raaz - The Mystery Continues" is produced by Mukesh Bhatt under the banner of Vishesh Films and is directed by Mohit Suri.
