Mumbai, Oct 4 (IANS) Production controller of Faruk Kabir's 'Allah Ke Banday' got death threats while they were shooting in Trombay, a northeastern suburb in Mumbai, sources said Monday.

A significant portion of the film was shot in Trombay at the Cheeta Camp area. The locals, present during the shoot were supportive during the filming.

However, trouble began when this didn't go well with a certain section of people and the production controller started receiving death threat calls and faced major verbal abuse.

'Director Kabir initially knew nothing about the incident but after sensing the stress in his team members, he immediately enquired. That's when the crew members came clean about the threats,' said a source in a statement.

'Allah Ke Banday' tackles the subject of young kids taking to crime and in turn endangering the country's future. The film stars Sharman Joshi in a pivotal role.
