Kolkata, April 11 (IANS) To promote his forthcoming Hindi film "Jannat", producer Mukesh Bhatt will be airing a Bengali version of the song "Jannat jahan".

The song has been re-sung as "Jannat takai" (money is heaven) by Rupam Islam, lead singer of the Bengali rock band Fossils.

"This is the first Bengali song in the history of Bollywood that is being used to promote a Hindi film. Rupam has a huge fan following in and outside India. We want to exploit his popularity to the fullest," Mukesh Bhatt told IANS.

This is Rupam's first song for Bollywood and is composed by Pritam Chakraborty.

"It is the first time I have sung a Bollywood number. After its overnight success, Mukesh Bhatt called me up and asked me to pen and sing a Bengali version of the song as well," said Rupam.

"The novelty of this hard rock number, composed by Pritam, is its underlying negative philosophy that says greed increases salvation. While the Hindi version written by Sayeed Quadri was recorded in October, the Bengali version has been recorded and shot in March this year."

The song, which is going to be aired soon, has been picturised on Rupam at the Madh Islands near Mumbai.

The music of "Jannat" has already topped the music charts with songs like "Zara sa" and "Judai".

Directed by Kunal Deshmukh with Emraan Hashmi playing the lead, it is based on cricket bookies and match fixers.
