Mumbai, Feb 6 (IANS) Darsheel Safary, the little boy who made you cry, laugh in "Taare Zameen Par", has been nominated for best actor in the 53rd Filmfare Awards - the first time a child has been nominated in this category.

Darsheel vowed the audience with his performance as a dyslexic child in Aamir Khan's directorial debut. Aamir has been nominated for best actor in a supporting role for the film.

Others vying for the best actor trophy are Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan and Shahid Kapur.

Darsheel, the winner of best child artiste at the 14th Annual STAR Screen Awards, was pretty upset when he was not considered for the best actor at the Screen Awards.

"I should get the best actor award because I am playing the lead role in the film. If I had been nominated in the best actor category, I would have been happier and jumped higher with joy," Darsheel had said.

Although Shah Rukh got the best actor award for "Chak De India" at the Screen Awards, Darsheel may beat the superstar in the race at the Filmfare awards.
