Gadhvi's deep connect with Aditya Chopra

Mumbai, Oct 6 (IANS) Directors under three-film contracts with Yash Raj Films (YRF) are known to quietly make their movies and move on. But here's a refreshing change in the protocol - Sanjay Gadhvi says he is still very deeply and indelibly connected with the banner and its people even six years after he left the production house.

Gadhvi made "Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai", "Dhoom" and "Dhoom 2" for the banner before moving on to greener pastures.

Gadhvi's bonding with Aditya Chopra, son of YRF head honcho Yash Chopra, remains unbroken. This, despite the fact that "Dhoom 3", which rightfully should have gone to Gadhvi, is now being directed Vijay Krishna Acharya.

"Gadhvi has remained close to Adi, so much so that he consults Adi for all important matters. The two are on the SMS with one another constantly, both personally and professionally.

"When Gadhvi began shooting 'Ajab Gazabb Love' for Vashu Bhagnani, he kept Adi in the loop, letting him know his plans to direct the new film. And now when the film is complete, Adi has agreed to watch Gadhvi's film as soon as he finds the time," said a source.

When one spoke to Gadhvi on the matter, he was reluctant to speak on his unbroken rapport with the very private and reclusive Aditya.

"When did we ever stop connecting for people to think that I had broken away from Yash Raj? I finished my three-film contract with them and moved on. As simple as that. As for 'Dhoom', I was done with that after I made the first two films. Even if I was offered 'Dhoom 3', I would have turned it down," said Gadhvi.

"'Ajab Gazabb Love' came to me at a time when I needed to laugh at myself and the world. It proved the biggest stressbuster in my life. I couldn't handle another 'Dhoom' film in this life. And Adi was very happy for me," he added.

"Ajab Gazabb Love", a romantic comedy, features Jackky Bhagnani opposite Nidhi Subbaiah in lead roles.
