Glamour is fictional, says Ayesha Takia

Mumbai, Sep 16 (IANS) Actress Ayesha Takia, who has a city-bred-girl-next-door image in Bollywood, sports a de-glam look in "Dor" and says people should focus on her character than her appearance.

"There's a lot more to my character in 'Dor' than the de-glam look. I'm playing a village girl in the film and my character required no make-up. A woman living in Rajasthan will obviously be portrayed in that manner."

Ayesha sans make-up - does she really like it that way and what's her glam quotient?

"I really don't understand this term. As actors we have to look glamorous most of the time. Anyone can be made to look glamorous with make-up and stuff. It's very fictional. It's the real person that matters," she said.

While shooting for the film, Ayesha established a good rapport with her director Nagesh Kukunoor and tied him a 'rakhi' (band), reports Bollywood Trade.

"I did tie a rakhi on Nagesh's wrist. I don't have a brother and we decided to take our relationship a step forward. This was my first rakhi," she fondly reminisced.

In spite of discomforts and mishaps on the sets, Ayesha enjoyed working in "Dor".

"I had a lovely time shooting for 'Dor'. We were shooting in 48-50 degrees and the weather really made it difficult but I enjoyed the whole experience. I also fell badly while filming a train sequence but all that is behind me. I managed to pull it off."

Her forthcoming films include "Fool And Final", "De Taali" and "Kya Love Story Hai".

"'De Taali' was initially titled 'Jalsa' but that was just the working title. It is mainly about friendship. The film is directed by E. Niwas.

It is about three friends played by Aftab Shivdasani, Riteish Deshmukh and me. I play a fun loving character Amrita who is the closest friend of Aftab and Riteish."

"In 'Kya Love Story Hai' I have been cast opposite Tusshar Kapoor and as the title suggests it's a sweet emotional love story. I haven't started shooting so I can't really talk about it," she said.
