'Goal' to have special IFFI screening

Panaji, Dec 2 (IANS) John Abraham-starrer "Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal" will have a special screening on the last day of 38th International Film Festival of India Monday at the request of Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi.


Neelam Kapoor, director in the Directorate of Film Festival, announced this at a press meet here Sunday.


"Dasmunsi has requested to screen the film for the football lovers here. However, he won't be able to attend it as he is busy with the parliament session in Delhi. The film will be shown at 2.30 p.m. Monday," said Kapoor.


Informed sources said John, who plays the main lead in the film, will attend the screening. Supporting actor Arshad Warsi is also expected to be there. Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, the film - about a dying Asian football club in London - got a mixed response when it was released two weeks ago.


Kapoor said renowned Bengali filmmaker Buddhadeb Dasgupta will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony and Kabir Bedi will be the compere.
