New Delhi, Jan 19 (IANS) Former beauty queen Gul Panag, who is often called a thinking actress, says she is concerned about India unlike her character in forthcoming movie "Rann" and feels the youth should have a fair representation in the Indian parliament.

"I play an aspirational ad filmmaker in 'Rann'. My character believes that the system is bad and that it's a waste to go against the powerful people in the industry. It represents the thinking of the youth today. The youth wants to stay away from the workings of a country, and has become indifferent and apathetic towards the country - and is selfish. But Gul Panag is not so in real life," Gul told reporters at a press conference here Tuesday.

"I am an evolved citizen. We need to realise that youth forms a major portion of our population and I feel we must have a fair representation of the youth in parliament," she added.

The actress features alongside Riteish Deshmukh in the film, which is an attempt by filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma to expose the conflict of business and conscience in the electronic media. The film, also featuring megastar Amitabh Bachchan, releases Jan 29.
