Hrithik goes theatre hopping, is overwhelmed

Mumbai, June 29 (IANS) "It feels like 'Kaho Na...Pyar Hai'," Hrithik Roshan confesses shyly as crowds roar at the Gaiety theatre in Mumbai where his latest movie "Krrish" is being screened.

"Actually, better than 'Kaho Na...' The response so far is very, very humbling. I was really nervous about how audiences would react to a kind of character they had never seen before. But what I've seen so far has been beyond all expectations."

"I've been to Chandan and two theatres in PVR and now Gaiety," Hrithik told IANS, trying to speak over the roar of hysterical audiences.

Hrithik visited four theatres in Mumbai on the first day of the film's screening.

The night before that, he and his father held a special private screening of "Krrish" at Yashraj Studios for friends from the industry.

"Mr (Amitabh) Bachchan was clapping and cheering. It was a great moment for me. Rani Mukerji, Shahid Kapur and Kareena Kapoor, Zayed Khan and Rakeysh Mehra were there...I can't even begin to express how they reacted."

On the opening day of "Krrish", children responded with unparalleled gusto to Hrithik's stunts. "Yes, I know. Kids seem to love the film. I don't know what the final outcome will be. But I haven't felt so overwhelmed for a long time."

Rakesh Roshan, Hrithik and co-star Priyanka Chopra left Friday night for the London premiere of "Krrish".

"The experience is almost magical. I feel proud not for myself but our family. We've a director, a music director (uncle Rajesh Roshan) and an actor in our home. When we started 'Krrish' even dad was a little nervous. But now we know we're going about it the right way."
