New Delhi, April 11 (IANS) Love triangles have become Akshay Kumar's forte and in "Humko Deewana Kar Gaye" too, releasing Friday, he portrays a confused lover emotionally trapped between beauties Bipasha Basu and Katrina Kaif.

Directed by Raj Kanwar, "Humko Deewana Kar Gaye" is the story of two people - Akshay and Katrina - and how destiny throws them together again and again until they fall in love.

Aditya (Akshay), who is an automobile engineer with a passion for cars, is engaged to Sonia (Bipasha), a fashion designer on the threshold of making her mark in the field.

But both of them belong to different school of thoughts - for Sonia career comes first, while Aditya is a family man and believes in traditional values.

Just before their wedding, Aditya has to leave for Canada to attend a training session about a new car to be launched in India, while Sonia heads to Paris for a fashion show.

In Canada, Aditya bumps into Jia (Katrina), who is shopping for her trousseau. Soon Aditya and Jia become very fond of each other and what happens next forms the movie's climax.

A Gulshan Kumar presentation, "Humko Deewana Kar Gaye" is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kishan Kumar and Kanwar.

It also stars Bhagyashree, Neena Kulkarni, Anju Mahendru, Dilnaz Paul, Uttara Bawkar, Ranjeet, Puneet Issar, Upasna Singh and Helen.

Kanwar's "Humko Deewana Kar Gaye" smells of a hackneyed plot and has nothing new to offer to the audience looking for interesting recipes to whet their creative appetite. And its box office fate is more or less predictable.

It's high time Akshay started experimenting with a variety of roles to further boost his career.
