I want to play Anarkali: Sayali Bhagat

Kolkata, Nov 24 (IANS) Ex-Miss India and actor Sayali Bhagat, who debuted in Bollwood with "The Train", says she would love to play Anarkali, a role immortalised by Madbubala in "Mughal-e-Azam".


"I am ready to give an eye to play Anarkali of 'Mughal-e-Azam'. I am aware that legendary actor Madhubala has immortalised the role in the film. But it's my dream to portray the character if given a chance in future," she told IANS at the launch of a bridal wear designer boutique 'Threads' here Monday.


Bhagat, who was crowned Miss India in 2004, has also acted in two Hindi films - "Halla Bol" and "Good Luck". Apart from that she has also featured in a film each in Telugu and Tamil.


"My next release is going to be Subhash Ghai's comedy 'Paying Guest' and Wilson Louis' horror film 'Shout'. I have also signed 'Kirkit'. It is about commercialisation of cricket," she said.


"Paying Guest" will release in January next year, while "Shout" is expected to hit the theatres in March.
