Kangana-Shiney cold war continues

Mumbai, March 15 (IANS) The tortured togetherness portrayed by actors Shiney Ahuja and Kangana Ranaut in "Gangster" and "Woh Lamhe" may be officially over with the stars allegedly turning into sworn enemies.

The rancour began with Anurag Basu's unabashed favouritism on the sets of "Gangster".

"The director took it upon himself to make Kangana the most sensational debutante since Kareena Kapoor in 'Refugee'. He saw the potential in her and groomed and instructed her on every shot and nuance," a source told IANS.

"Naturally, Anurag's open partiality for his leading lady didn't go down well with the rest of the cast, specially Shiney, who felt cheated as he was playing the title role in 'Gangster'," he added.

"Shiney would openly try to distract Kangana during shots, crack a joke into her ears just before she had to do a breakdown scene... Kangana didn't catch on during 'Gangster'. But by the time the two came together to do their next film, she was completely clued into Shiney's games of one-upmanship."

Unfortunately for Shiney, Kangana gave another mind-blowing performance in "Woh Lamhe" and completely overshadowed him again.

By the end of "Gangster", the new-age Shabana Azmi-Naseeruddin Shah pair was barely exchanging a hello on the sets. And during "Woh Lamhe", they ceased to talk to each other completely.

There is little chance then of Shiney and Kangana coming together again on screen.
