New Delhi, April 14 (IANS) The fourth Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA), opening April 19, will pay a tribute to actor Naseeruddin Shah and honour sitar maestro Ravi Shankar with the LA Philharmonic Lifetime Achievement Award.

The five-day festival will begin with Deepa Mehta's controversial film "Water" and premiere Naseer's latest film "Parzania".

Inspired by a true story, director Rahul Dholakia's "Parzania" focuses on communal violence and also stars Sarika and American actor Corin Nemec.

Naseer's "Manthan" and "Monsoon Wedding" will also be shown as part of the tribute. There will also be a 30-minute discussion with the actor April 21.

IFFLA, which has established itself as the only US festival entirely dedicated to presenting Indian cinema, will screen Pradeep Sarkar's "Parineeta" and hold the first show of Anurag Kashyap's "Paanch".

This year a total of 33 films from 13 countries will be screened at IFFLA and on April 23. Actor-turned-director Rajat Kapoor's marital comedy "Mixed Doubles" will bring the curtains down on the event.
