Mumbai, Sep 13 (IANS) Actor Vinay Pathak is upset about reading and writing books having taken a backseat in this day and age.

"Writing has dipped these days, only films and television serials are being made. But I believe that writing literature is very important and people should not lose their manners to read," Vinay said here Wednesday at the launch of writer Minty Tejpal's book "The Last Love Letter".

Vinay, who is an avid reader and dabbles in theatre too, says he is thankful to Tejpal for deciding to write a book even when there are lot of other things he can do.

Meanwhile, talking about his next film "Gaur Hari Dastaan", Vinay said: "I have finished shooting for 'Gaur Hari Daastan', a film by Ananth Mahadevan. This is based on a true story, a freedom fighter, Gaur Hari Das jee. It's in the post right now and soon we'll complete the film and release it."

"Gaur Hari Dastaan" has Vinay in the title role, while actress Konkona Sen Sharma makes a comeback with the film.
