Mathura resident sets world record for movie-viewing

Mathura (Uttar Pradesh), June 17 (IANS) Ashish Sharma of Uttar Pradesh's Mathura city has created a new world record by viewing movies non-stop for almost five days, breaking an earlier record of 117 hours four minutes set by a German woman.


Sharma watched movies for 120 hours at the KD Dental College auditorium here. For almost five days, he kept watching films.


He began June 11 and watched 48 movies. The marathon movie-watching started with "Gopal Krishna". He saw "Sholay" to equal the world record.


Around 8.30 a.m. Monday he broke the German record. But he continued to watch movies for another four hours. He watched his 48th film "Aja Nach Le" and set the new record.


Sharma is known in Mathura as memory master. He is planning a book on improving one's memory for the youth.
