Neetu Chandra going places

Oct 16, 2006 Swati R. Chaudhary

"Garam Masala" girl Neetu Chandra has bagged a film with Anupam Kher and she can hardly contain her excitement.

"It's an honour to work with Anupam Kher. He is a living legend and I am overjoyed at this opportunity," says an elated Neetu.

The untitled film set in Kashmir will be directed by Ashok Pandit and produced by Anupam, reports Bollywood Trade.

"Anupam Kher plays a father who's lost his son and is clueless regarding his whereabouts. I play a journalist who helps him in this entire process. The film is about how I support him all through his predicament," says Neetu, who will sport an Afghani look in the film.

She also hopes that "Traffic Singal", in which she plays the role of a Kathiawadi girl who sells mirror-work and embroidery on footpath, will take her to a different level.

"This is my first solo lead film. I am extremely overwhelmed by the fact that I got a chance to work with talented director Madhur Bhandarkar. I am quite sure that it will mark a turning point in my career.

"After 'Garam Masala', offers have been pouring in but I am not in a rush to sign films."
