Mumbai, June 15 (IANS) Pritish Nandy Communications (PNC) has given the go-ahead to Mani Shankar's "Mukhbiir", which was caught up in a row between the production house and the director. The film will now be released July 18.

"There were some controversies between the director Mani Shankar and PNC, but the matter has now been sorted out. Yesterday I received an SMS from PNC saying that they have no objection to the release of the film," Sudhish Rambholta, the producer of the film, told IANS here at the premiere of the film.

Confirming this, Pritish Nandy said: "Mani has paid us the money that he owed to the company two days back and we have no objection against the release of the film. The matter has been sorted out."

The espionage thriller was screened here at the two-day premiere of the 10th Osian's-Cinefan Film Festival of Asian and Arab Cinema. Earlier the film was set to release June 27, but it has been deferred because the producers wanted time for promotional work. Pyramid Saimira is presenting it.

Mani Shankar, reluctant to divulge any details about the dispute, said: "Everything is now sorted out and the film is ready for release."

Earlier, PNC sent a letter of objection to the producer of the film asking him to halt its release as the director allegedly owed Rs.1.2 million to PNC.

"Mukhbiir", an action-thriller based on the life of an informer, has a remarkable cast comprising Om Puri, Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Rahul Dev, and Raima Sen with Sameer Dattani playing the title character.
