New Delhi, Feb 24 (IANS) Rishikesh-based Manmohan Tiwari, who was one of the suitors on Rakhi Sawant's "Swayamvar" show, has bagged a role in the soon-to-be-launched show "Jamunia".

Tiwari, who was among the strongest contenders on "Rakhi Ka Swayamvar" last year and considered it as a stepping stone for his acting career, will be seen as Awadh Thakur in NDTV Imagine's new TV show.

"Jamunia", produced by Beyond Dreams Entertainment Limited, will narrate the story of an orphan girl called Jamunia, whose maternal uncle marries her off into a rich palace for money. The girl is unaware that the palace is cursed and that no woman has ever survived there. What happens to her forms the rest of the plot.

"'Jamunia' is a tale dedicated to every Indian woman who loves her family dearly and is ready to help and support them in any given situation. It portrays the power of a woman who can go to any extent to save her family from any harm that befalls them. 'Jamunia' exposes the territories and locations never seen on television," said Yash Patnaik, producer of the show, in a press release.

The show will go on air March 8.
