Silk Smitha's bro complains about Dirty Picture

Nagavaraprasad may be an ordinary lorry driver in Eluru, but the brother of late Silk Smitha is in news, thanks to Milan Luthria's 'Dirty Picture'. He can't be silent over the alleged apathy being shown by the producers of the biopic. He laments the fact that although the makers of Vidya Balan's retro movie had earlier said that their film was based on the life of Silk Smitha, they made a volte-face when he approached the court objecting to its making without his consent.

He demands that a special screening of the film be arranged for him and his lawyer, and the film can subsequently be released only if he is convinced that there is nothing objectionable in the way the movie depicts his late sister's life. "There is mystery surrounding the death of my sister. Many doubts have not been cleared. Given this, how could the makers go about making the movie without our prior consent? I want justice. I have already sent notices to the producers and the Censor Board. However, I am sad that it could not elicit a response from them so far."

It may be noted that on her recent visit to Hyderabad, Vidya Balan explicitly denied that Dirty Picture is based on Silk's life. Those involved with the film maintain that DP is only inspired by Smitha's life. Click the Movie button below for more info:
