Vivek croons for 'Deewane Huey Paagal'

Nov 23, 2005 Subhash K. Jha

Mambai, Nov 23 (IANS) Vivek Oberoi, who plays a narrator in "Deewane Huey Paagal", sings a whole number for the film composed by Anu Malik.

Malik originally sang the long narrative song. But the producers decided it would be far more attractive if Vivek did the needful.

"I enjoyed the whole experience," Vivek told IANS.

"I'm not really a singer. I did it mainly because producer Sajid Nadiadwala is like family. His family and mine go back a long way. My dad (Suresh Oberoi) has done a lot of films with the Nadiadwalas. And if all goes well I'd soon be doing a full film with Sajid. In the meanwhile there's the narrator and the song that I've done in 'Deewane Huey Paagal'."

Incidentally, Vivek's sister has tried her hand at singing in Indra Kumar's "Masti". Now it's the brother's turn.

Vivek finally seems to be loosening up. He has one comedy, "Home Delivery", ready for release, while another, "Pyare Mohan", has just been completed in Bangkok.

"Deewane Huey Paagal" opens next week.
