Wasn't considering Kangana for 'Kites': Anurag Basu

New Delhi, May 13 (IANS) Kangana Ranaut may be his lucky mascot, but director Anurag Basu wasn't keen on casting her in his much-talked about international love story "Kites".

"I was not considering Kangana at all for this film ('Kites') because she has done big and meaty roles. I couldn't tell her that 'Kangana you are my lucky mascot, please do this film'," Basu told IANS.

Kangana, however, didn't have any apprehension in doing a cameo in the film that stars Hrithik Roshan and Mexican actress Barbara Mori.

"I was the one who gave her a break (in 'Gangster - A Love Story') and she is a very good friend of mine. She knew the length of the role and she still wanted to be a part of the film. Her role is like a guest appearance and that is what has also been credited for her in the film," he added.

The film is hit the screens May 21. Click the Movie button below for more info:
