Los Angeles, Oct 2 (IANS) Grammy award winner Adele has sung the theme song for upcoming Bond movie "Skyfall" and it will be premiered Friday, on Global James Bond Day, on her official website.

An excited Adele admits that she was hesitant to take up the responsibility earlier.

"I was a little hesitant at first to be involved with the theme song for 'Skyfall'. There's a lot of instant spotlight and pressure when it comes to a Bond song," the singer said in a statement.

She has collaborated with musician Paul Epworth to co-write and produce the theme song.

"But I fell in love with the script and Paul had some great ideas for the track and it ended up being a bit of a no-brainer to do it in the end," she said.

Recording the song was the "proudest moment of her life", says the 24-year-old.

"It was also a lot of fun writing to a brief, something I've never done, which made it exciting. When we recorded the strings, it was one of the proudest moments of my life. I'll be back combing my hair when I'm 60 telling people I was a Bond girl back in the day I'm sure!" she said.

The song was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London. The "Skyfall" song boasts a 77-piece orchestra.

The movie, featuring actor Daniel Craig as the British superspy, will release Oct 26 in Britain, Nov 2 in India and Nov 9 in the US.
