Ben Whishaw to play Q in next Bond film

London, July 14 (IANS) English actor Ben Whishaw will play the role of James Bond's quartermaster, affectionately known as Q in the next Bond film "Skyfall", co-producers of the movie Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli have confirmed.

"It's a real thrill to confirm the return of Q in 'Skyfall' played by the enormously talented Ben Whishaw. We are delighted to have this beloved character back in the series," the producers said in a statement.

Whishaw becomes the fourth actor to play the role of Q, that was previously played by Peter Burton, Desmond Llewelyn and John Cleese.

Actor Daniel Craig is back as James Bond 007 in the movie directed by Sam Mendes. The film is slated to release here Oct 26.
