London, April 16 (IANS) "Spider-man" actor Willem Dafoe has slammed Hollywood for compromising on art for money.

Contactmusic.com reports that despite starring in "Spider-Man" franchise, which is one of the most successful in Hollywood history, Dafoe insists films are too often judged on their box office performances.

He said: "People get too obsessed with a kind of puritanical thing in our society. If it doesn't make money... it isn't worth anything. There is an anti-art thing for us in this country."
