Ledger's Joker named summer's best villain

London, Sep 4 (IANS) The character of Joker, played by the late Heath Ledger in the movie "The Dark Knight", has been named the summer's best movie villain.


Ledger, who died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs in January, won 95 percent of the votes in the poll conducted by Moviefone.com. Cate Blachett's performance in "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" came in second.


Jeff Bridges's role in "Iron Man" and Tim Roth's character in "The Incredible Hulk" tied with Jet Li's portrayal of an evil emperor in "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor" for third place with one percent each.


"The Dark Knight" also won the polls for best sequel, best superhero movie, best action sequence and movie most worth your cash.
