Bangalore, Jan 26 (IANS) "Mungaru Male" overtakes "Jothe Jotheyalli" to become this fortnight's leading Kannada film. The top five films are:

."Mungaru Male" - The film is into its third week and has already crossed the collections of many of last year's super hits. In Bangalore alone, it is expected to gross over Rs.15 million. Ganesh, a popular TV anchor and comedian, has become quite popular among youngsters thanks to this film.

."Jothe Jotheyalli" - The film has completed 125 days and is set to have a silver-jubilee run in Bangalore. Surviving all competition, it still occupies the second slot in the list.

."Neelakanta" - It has entered its sixth week and the collections are still satisfactory in northern Karnataka, but it is not doing so well in other parts of the state. The songs and Namitha's appeal are the USP of the film.

."Sixer" - The film has introduced a new star, Prajwal Devaraj, son of Kannada actor Devaraj. For a low-budget film, the collections have been above average.

."Sirivantha" - It has completed 100 days in some centres and is still doing good business in interior areas. Vishnuvardhan's performance is the film's main attraction.
