'Mungaru Male' marches on despite Kannada competition

Bangalore, Feb 10 (IANS) Its in its sixth week, but "Mungaru Male" still marches ahead of later releases.


The top five Kannada films are:


1. "Mungaru Male" - Theatres screening 'Comedy Time' Ganesh's starrer "Mungaru Male", which is directed by Yogaraj Bhat, are still displaying House Full boards. While trade pundits predict that it will gross Rs.80 million in Mysore, box office collections in Bangalore are expected to cross Rs.20 million.


2. "Arasu" - The first Puneet Raj Kumar film to be released in the past eight months is as expected attracting huge crowds in the opening week. Collections in the first week has exceeded Rs.65,000 in Bangalore.


3. "Jothe Jotheyalli" - The film is all set to complete 25 weeks in Bangalore. It has proved its appeal for both urban and rural audiences.


4. "Sixer" - Debutant actor Prajwal Devaraj has won popular notice and appreciation. "Sixer" is doing surprisingly well even in B centres, where films with new stars usually don't get a good response.


5. "Poojari" - Aadi Lokesh, the villain of "Jogi", is introduced in this film as the hero. The action flick about the underworld had a good opening, but collections have started sliding.
