My role in 'Tananam Tananam' was challenging, says Ramya

Bangalore, Dec 4 (IANS) Well-known Kannada actress Ramya describes her role in the musical "Tananam Tananam" as a "little complex".

"I had a somewhat easy time shooting the first half of the film. It shows me as a bubbly, naughty girl who teases the hero. But what I did in the second half was more challenging.

"I had to hide my real identity from the blind hero and also had to accept his attraction to another girl. That was the most difficult part of my role. But, I think, I have done justice to the role" Ramya told IANS.

The actress received rave reviews for her performance in the film, which was premiered at the 37th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.

She wants to balance her acting career by working in different types of films.

"I am currently working in a film called 'Arasu' with top hero Puneet Raj Kumar. I got my first break in 'Appu', which had Puneet in the lead. It was a commercial film with good story.

"After that I worked in an award-winning film 'Amruthadhaare'. I had a meaty role in the film. I will also be working with T.N. Seetharam. He is known as a top tele-serial director. The story and the strength of the role appeal to me more than anything else," she said.

Kavitha Lankesh, who has directed "Tananam Tananam", says she had to do a lot of homework because she chose different backgrounds for her narrative though she had borrowed the script from a short story by legendary Tamil writer Kalki.
