Sudeep to anchor village-based reality show

Bangalore, May 7 (IANS) Southern star Sudeep is set to make his small screen debut as the host of the Suvarna Channel's new reality show and says he is curious to see how 10 city girls will adjust to a village life.


The show has been named "Pyaate Hudgeer, Halli Lifu" and will show 10 city girls, who are used to comfortable and luxurious life, staying in a village for 10 days without any comforts. The 50-episode series will go on air May 10.


"I am really happy to be a part of this exciting project. I will keep my weekends free to shoot for the reality show," Sudeep told reporters.


"Such new concepts are the need of the hour. I am also curious to know how the city- bred girls will adjust to village life for 10 days without mobile, internet and shampoo," he added.


Jagadish Kumar, President, STAR India (South), says Sudeep will be the star attraction of the show.


"He will be the main anchor, judge and guide. Another noted actor and dancer Akul Balaji will also participate in the show as an anchor," said Kumar.


Anup Chandrashekhar, business head of Suvarna TV, said: "The 10 girls who have been selected will stay in Puradalu village in Shimoga district. They will face various tests and go through many tedious tasks. These girls will have to live the life of village girls."
