Actress Vimala Raman is one of the heroines of Dr. Vishnuvardhan starrer Aaptha Rakshaka directed by P.Vasu. Aaptha Rakshaka is the 200th film of Dr. Vishnu and naturally raising lot of expectations before its release. Vimala Raman appears in a glamorous song with Dr. Vishnuvardhan.

Vimala Raman who has migrated from Australia to work in South Indian films has already worked in films of all the four languages. She was seen mostly in the roles which were traditional and next door girl type of characters.

But now the news is that Vimala Raman is all set to join the Bikini brigade. She is wearing Bikini in a new Telugu film in which she is working with young actor Tarun. V.N.Adithya is the director of this film.

Normally South Indian heroines don't get into a bikini act in their first few films unlike their Bollywood counterparts who would like to be seen in skimpy costumes at the drop of the hat. The South Indian girls usually wait for their career to take off and wear bikini attires only when they find that they are running out of steam in their careers.

Essentially these actresses get into a bikini or begin to expose only to get noticed and bag some more offers to maintain continuity in films. Vimala Raman is just following this thumb rule in her career after having acted in different type of characters in Tamil and Telugu films.

Vimala Raman had too many disasters in her career. Her Telugu films have not been hugely successful. Though she has been paired with much younger heroes, Vimala Raman looked too old in her traditional dress. Perhaps the criticism that she looked old in films might have prompted her to take up to glamour route.

Vimala is strongly hoping for a big turn around in her career through Aaptha Rakshaka. "This is a dream role for me. I had an opportunity to work with a big star like Vishnu sir. P.Vasu has really written an amazing script for the film. The needle of suspicion about the Nagavalli character is also pointed towards me. I don't want to give any more details, but it is better for the audience to watch and enjoy this film," says Vimala Raman.
