Adoor best director for the 5th time

New Delhi, Sep.7 (NR): The 55th National Awards were announced today. Master filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan won the Best Director award for the fifth time for his 'Naalu Pennungal'.

Malayalam filmmaker Priyadarshan's Tamil film Kanchivaram was selected as the best film, while Prakash Raj bagged the Best Actor award for the same film. Uma Shri has been adjudged the Best Actress for her performance in Gulabi Talkies.
