It's reported that internationally acclaimed filmmaker and Dada Saheb Phalke Award winner Adoor Gopalakrishnan is all set to begin a film, with Mohanlal doing the lead role. Adoor's last film was the much acclaimed Nizhalkuththu, and now this gifted filmmaker is making a film based on three stories written by the late writer and Jnanpith recipient Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai.

It's for the first time that Mohanlal is acting in an Adoor film, which will also have Padmapriya, Jagathy Sreekumar and Nandita Das in key roles. The film is likely to start rolling in March. The director is said to have been approached by Doordarshan for making three tele-films based on Thakazhi's stories and since Adoor felt that the three stories could be blended to form a single screenplay and a single film, he decided to do it on celluloid. This would be Adoor Gopalakrishnan's tenth film.
