Adoor - Mohanlal team up - A Media hype?

World-renowned filmmaker and Dada Saheb Phalke Award winner Adoor Gopalakrishnan has announced the commencement of his new film, titled Moonnu Pennungal, with Manoj K. Jayan, Jagdeesh, Mukesh, Padmapriya, Nandita Das, Kavya Madhavan, Vijayaraghavan, Jagathy Sreekumar etc in key roles. All this when the media was rife with reports about Adoor making his new film with Mohanlal in the lead role.

Adoor has now openly denied any intention to make this movie with Mohanlal. He stated that Mohanlal was never a part of his film and all that was reported was just media hype with people drawing conclusions after Mohanlal visited him at his house.

Certain sections of the media believe that it is the filmmaker's ego that had made him go back on his earlier decision of making the film with Mohanlal in the lead. It is also believed by many that Adoor had not liked Mohanlal going about talking about the film even before he himself had made the official announcement. Be that as it may, Moonnu Pennungal is all set to start, reportedly on the 11th of this month in Thiruvananthapuram and will then shift over to Ambalapuzha. The film is to be completed in a single schedule of 40 days.
