Adoor's Film in Toronto Festival
Aug 23, 2007 NRRenowned film maker Adoor Gopalakrishnan's new film Naalu Pennungal is scheduled to make its world premier at the Toronto International Film Festival, where it will be shown from September 06 to September 15.
The film, which is based on four short stories from Thakazhi, one of the best writers ever in Malayalam, was produced with support from Doordarshan, the national television network. Women have the dominant role in the film, which will be exhibited in the Masters segment at the Toronto Festival.
The film's cast includes Nanditha Das, Kavya Madhavan, Padmapriya, Geethu Mohandas, Manju Pillai, Ramya Nambeeshan, Murali, Mukesh, Lalitha, Manoj K. Jayan, Sreejith, Ravi Vallathol, Ashokan, P Sreekumar and others. Naalu Pennungal will be distributed domestically by Emil & Eric Digital Films in October. Bensi Martin is co-producer of the film.
